TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL
Now might be time for a change and we are here to help you consider all your options and help you discover the right choice for you.
Q. Ask yourself why you are considering selling your home. Is the cleaning too much to deal with now? Are you away so frequently with travel that you want less to worry about? Is the yard work too much?
A. If it is merely a cleaning and yard maintenance issue, you could just consider a bi-monthly house cleaning and yard service. We have referrals to these services if you wish. If it is a weightier issue and you feel stressed in your present situation, then selling may be your best form of relief. Another option is to combine households. There is a growing trend of generations of families living together as they used to.
Q. Ask yourself what would be your ideal situation? Do you still want to live in the area? Do you want a garden or indoor pool? Do you want someone else to cook your meals daily?
A. The options are limitless. They have tiered assisted living communities, where you have your own cottage and yet meals are cooked for you and your house is cleaned. There is also a growing trend of mixed use properties. These allow you to live above retail and offices, that would service your needs. Like a coffee shop, deli and doctors office.
Q. Is money an issue? Are the taxes rising too high? Do you want the equity to pay cash for a smaller home?
A. Many people are selling thier larger homes and using the equity to move into smaller homes. Some folks are moving out of state and buying lovely single story homes with cash. Positive tax aspects are available on some home purchases, so check with your accountant.
